Improve Your Life

The quotes, If you always do what youve always done you will always get what youve always gotten; and Albert Einstein's statement, The definition of insanity is doing the something again and again and expecting different results, clearly and concisely point out that in order to effect change one needs to do something different.

It is obvious to many that change is the solution, but what to change is the question. It is difficult to know what to change. There are a plethora of self-help books from the Road Less Traveled to Conversations with God and Dr. Phils books.

While you might know what behavior you want to effect and even what behavior you want to eliminate, but do you know the underlying thought(s) and feeling(s) which drive the unwanted behavior.

Everything we do has a secondary gain. On the surface each person is convinced that his/her behavior, even those that are considered dysfunctional or self-destructiveusing so-called recreational drugs, smoking, being over weightare part and parcel with lifeand have little or no interference with leading one toward ones desired goals.

These secondary gains of negative behaviors are seldom obvious, but none-the-less is a misguided attempt at the happiness, health and fulfillment people desire. No one wakes up and says, "I want a miserable, unfulfilled, unhealthy life." What then prompts people to continue dysfunctional or self-destructive behaviors? More often than not it is fear. Fear of the unknown, fear of looking at oneself; fear of learning what one fears the mostsomething is wrong with me.

To begin the process of uncovering the secondary gains of your behavior you need to answers these four questions:

1) How does____ benefit my life? (Although this question seems to blame the victim, that such a painful syndrome could have "benefits," remember that all behaviors, attitudes and even diseases have underlying secondary benefits or we would not create or maintain them.)

2) How is ____ a detriment to my life?

3) How would not doing _____ be a benefit to my life?

4) How would not doing _____ be a detriment to my life?

Unconscious blocks are nearly impossible for you to identify and resolve on your own. It is often quite difficult to allow oneself to feel and express the various emotions which were originally felt and suppressed because to feel the feelings without adequate process is too painful. Unfortunately, processing events with loaded emotions is seldom done adequately. And yet, even now, unless this is done, healing will only become a partial achievement without a complete resolution of the issues involvedwith continued negative impact consciously and unconsciously.

With the benefit of hypnosis and Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) these negative blocks can be eliminated. Once the negative blocks are eliminated at the core, you can keep your ego balanced by keeping your energy and focus on; who you truly are and your abilities.

Hypnosis is a dynamic and vital healing process embracing all aspects health care. Hypnosis is client-centered with its focus on the discovery of the origin of a persons issues. Through the process of hypnosis/regression the unconscious mind goes to the original cause, which then gives the person and practitioner the opportunity to process the original feelings surrounding the original experience/cause. These surrounding feelings can be healed, thus empowering you to live the life you want to live. This study confirmsHypnosis is more effective and works more quickly than traditional talk-therapy or psychoanalysis. In a hypnotic state, you are more receptive to new ideas and you can more effectively process the emotions linked to the experiences, which created pain, fear, sadness, anger, guilt, shame, humiliation and low self-esteem.

Through Hypnosis you connect with your subconscious mind, which puts YOU in control of your subconscious mindthe most powerful and empowering aspect of your brain.

American Health Magazine reported these findings from a comparison study.

Psychoanalysis: Creates a 38% recovery after 600 sessions
Behavior Therapy: Creates a 72% recovery after 22 sessions
Hypnosis: Creates a 93% recovery after 6 sessions

NLP uses a set of strategies, axioms and beliefs about human communication, perception and subjective experience. The core principle is that an individual's thoughts, gestures and words interact to create your perception of the world. By changing your outlook, using a variety of techniques, a person can improve their attitudes and behavior.

Promote Your Book Online with a Short Article (Updated)

Dissatisfied with your book sales? With book signings, press releases, back of the room sales?

So many authors spend a lot of time and money on promotion that doesn't work. It's time to do what authors do best--write a short article. People visit article direcories looking for great free content for their site and their eines. Some will be attracted to your topic. Follow these ten steps to write an article high-traffic web sites will clamor for with a link back to where your book is sold.

1. Choose a topic that relates to your book. Make sure this how-to article has useful, needed information. One site who markets to professional speakers just published your coach's article "What Makes One Book Out Sell Another."

2. Know your article's thesis. The thesis is the number one solution your article offers to its reader. In the introduction above, the thesis is stated in the last line, "Use these 10 ways to write an article top web sites will clamor for with a link back to where your book is sold."

3. Know your preferred audience. Just as your book has a target audience, so should your article. One book, "How to Write Your E-Book or Other BookFast! is a short, easy-to-read, step-by-step guide to assist professionals and other businesses with writing, publishing and selling their book.

4. Write a sparkling opening. Like a headline in a press release or on your book's back cover, your first sentence should grab your readers by the collar so they will keep reading. The opening could use a shocking fact, a question, a benefit, or a compelling story right out of your book. Make the opening a short paragraph, even a single line. Readers want short, concise, digestible information, especially on the Internet.

5. Illustrate a need. Whatever your topic, show your readers why they need your information. If you have written a book on listening, in your short article discuss how much is at stake for not listening such as divorce or lost business. You may also share the benefits.

6. Give a brief background of the problem or situation you will solve. One client wrote a book, "The Cure for Multiple Sclerosis." She shares that over 2 million people worldwide with Multiple Sclerosis are diagnosed incurable, that doctors are pressured to use pharmaceuticals, and that the health industry is not about getting people well, but about making money.

7. Share the problems that result. In "The Cure for Multiple Sclerosis," the problem is that most people rely on western medicine which does not have the answers. Big money is not spent on alternative or complementary ways to prevent and cure chronic diseases, so people with problems get drugs that deplete the immune system.

8. Give the solution. Your book offers solutions to your reader's challenges or problems. So must your article. Show your readers how to get excellent health, how they can write a book, make more money, or have better relationships.

9. Show them where to get the solution and how. The article, "How to Listen at Work," needs to suggest where to go or what to do next. You may name a quality book to read. Mention a seminar or training, or recommend a coach. You may even mention a web site address or 800 number.

Place your article on as many high traffic internet sites and aritcle directories as you can. Just as feature articles in newspapers are seven times as powerful as advertising, so is your article seven times as powerful as other promotion. People are looking for free information online. That's the major reason they surf!

So, now that you know how to write a short article, put it to work for you and submit it to the 400,000 opt-in ezines and top web sites in your field to promote your book.
